The general eligibility requirements under civil service regulations are, above all:

• Austrian citizenship; this requirement is also met by citizenship of a country whose nationals Austria is required to grant the same rights of professional access as Austrian nationals under an agreement (EEA or EU)
• for non-Austrian citizens (or those deemed equivalent), proof of a work permit (the Austrian Public Employment Service is responsible for this)
• the presentation of any professional licenses (e.g., medical license, professional license)
• Personal, health-related, and professional suitability for the intended position
• proof of the vaccinations required for the respective field
  Due to the special health responsibilities of the OÖG, we strongly recommend that our employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 and maintain full vaccination coverage at all times.
• Sufficient knowledge of the German language, both spoken and written.

Each new employment contract is initially limited to a term of one year, with the first month being a probationary period.

Applications from abroad

should be submitted in German (with a certified translation if necessary). Please also include the following documents:

• Birth certificate
• Proof of citizenship
• Residence registration form
• if applicable, a certificate confirming eligibility to hold the advertised position (professional license)

To protect the patients entrusted to your care and for your own protection while working in our clinics, the following vaccinations are required:

• Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
• Chickenpox
• Hepatitis B
• Hepatitis A
• Tetanus-Diphtheria-Polio-Pertussis (This vaccination must have been administered within the last 10 years)

Current vaccination recommendations call for two MMR vaccinations

Anyone who has received only one dose or an incomplete vaccination series must get vaccinated—for example, at any district administrative office or municipal office—or provide proof of positive antibody titers.

We also remind you that up-to-date vaccination protection against COVID-19 is recommended for your own protection and the protection of others.

If your vaccination status is insufficient or incomplete, you will not be permitted to work in our clinics.
Please note that the time required to achieve the necessary vaccination status may vary.

Appointments are made under a contract of employment with the State of Upper Austria. The “New Pay Scale” is governed by the Upper Austrian Salary Act of 2001, LGBl. No. 28/2001, and the Upper Austrian Classification Ordinance, LGBl. 56/2001 (with the exception of apprentices: In this case, employment begins under an apprenticeship contract with Oberösterreichische Gesundheitsholding GmbH in accordance with the Vocational Training Act and the Guidelines for Apprentices in Upper Austrian State Service, as amended).

To determine the eligible prior service periods, new employees must report and provide proof of all prior service periods completed before the start of their employment. The salary grade is based on the eligible prior service periods.
