Admission Requirements

The general eligibility requirements under civil service regulations are, above all:

  • Austrian citizenship; this requirement is also met by citizenship of a country whose nationals Austria is required to grant the same rights of professional access as Austrian nationals under an agreement (EEA or EU)

    Due to the special health responsibilities of the OÖG, we strongly recommend that our employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 and maintain full vaccination coverage at all times.

Each new employment contract is initially limited to a term of one year, with the first month being a probationary period.

To protect the patients entrusted to your care and for your own protection while working in our clinics, the following vaccinations are required:

  • Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
  • Chickenpox
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis A
  • Tetanus-Diphtheria-Polio-Pertussis (This vaccination must have been administered within the last 10 years)

Current vaccination recommendations call for two MMR vaccinations

Anyone who has received only one dose or an incomplete vaccination series must get vaccinated—for example, at any district administrative office or municipal office—or provide proof of positive antibody titers.

Pay Scale

Appointments are made under a contract of employment with the State of Upper Austria. The “New Pay Scale” is governed by the Upper Austrian Salary Act of 2001, LGBl.
